I paint the many species of endangered wildlife and indigenous races I come across from around the world in a more traditional figurative manner, while still trying to use the same bold and dynamic technique.
From the mighty blue whale to the ‘lowly’ dung beetle, the world is at a crossroads. I am in the process of documenting vanishing animals, cultures, and peoples, in each one of the 195 countries around the world, across all seven continents. The orphan rhino I met in South Africa doesn’t have her own voice. The tribal warrior I met in Swaziland doesn’t deserve to see his culture erode away bit by bit. The baby green sea turtles I met swimming towards the dark ocean in a secluded beach in Nicaragua don’t know of their uncertain future. The least I can do is to give each one of them a mouthpiece, a few images, perhaps a few seconds of video clip, to show the world that they need to exist too.
