Naza del Rosal
It all starts in my notebooks, my pensieve. The cave where I go. I get very sharp until I reach the universe of my mind. A universe that is history, journey, ritual and symbolism of myself. Then I spread it on the canvas as the medieval illustrators filled out their miniature illustrations distressed by the vacui horror - that "fear of emptiness" that I share so much with them. Emanations and illuminations. As in Brueghel's or El Bosco's paintings, in mine too many things happen and concur at the same time: the slice of pain or joy, the reason for a dream, the fragment of a story. It is a multiplicity that converges in the retina to suggest the visionary and panoptic experience of (the / my) Reality. And suddenly my characters emerge. To gush. Almost without giving them permission. These beings represent or bring into being the hidden of my unconscious (dreams, desires, wounds) while manifesting the trance or the rapture of reverie and knowledge.
